Winnie Cain, Arizona Institute for Thai Massage & Oriental Massage, is taking a group of volunteers and board members to Thailand in November to meet and get acquainted with the Akha people and Thailand. You are invited to join us! We'll be staying at Saen Chai Pattana for four days, visiting Chiang Rai where the new spa will be, enjoying an elephant ride, temple tours and going to the golden triangle. We will visit with the The Open-Hand NGO; this non profit organization will run the spa in Chiang Rai when it is completed. While in Chiang Mai, we'll visit Doi Sutep and return to Bangkok for a tour before heading home. There is plenty to do for those who are not interested in the meeting The Open Hand NGO. Chiang Rai is a mecca for massage.
We are encouraging everyone who comes on the tour to share their talents with the Akha. A couple of artists will be teaching classes. Winne will bring donations of clothes, yarn and tooth brushes. The Akha women do embroidery. If you can get donations of thread that would be great.
